I became involved with Citizens Advisory Board in 2009. I was managing the leadership programs for the Norman Chamber, and had a great opportunity to help community members become involved. And while I was able to engage others in the CAB, I had the great fortune to join the board. Each year, the Citizens Advisory Board provides incredible “extras” for children in Cleveland County through Secret Santa and Special Needs. Christmas gifts, personal toiletries, clothing, and travel assistance to reconnect with siblings, to name a few. It’s so powerful to watch the community unite to help these children! Working with CAB also provides a chance for me to volunteer with my sister, Alison. We have volunteered with Secret Santa for several years because we get to spend time together while helping kiddos!
